Paul Farquhar

Paul is our managing director at Empire St. He started work at Empire St (previously named G W Scott & Associates) in 2007 as a Client Manager, having worked in other Waikato Chartered Accountant firms prior to joining our team. Paul’s role as Client Manager expanded progressively into management responsibilities, and in 2016 he took up the reins as a director and shareholder.

Paul’s expertise is in business consulting, business structuring, and IT consulting. People often think of accounting as just numbers, but for Paul it’s the people and story behind the numbers that are important. It starts with him sitting down with a client, seeing the business through their eyes and learning what makes the business tick; then working alongside them to achieve what they want, personally and professionally.

From his university days Paul has always had a keen interest in IT, although he stops short of calling himself a geek! In the accounting field it’s a real strength. By keeping pace with changes in IT, Paul can help clients choose and benefit from the technology available. And as far as the rest of our team is concerned, he is definitely our go-to computer guru!

A young family keeps Paul busy when he’s not at work, and he loves to travel, so he and his wife are always plotting out their next adventure.
